Finding Peace in Prison
During a period in her life when Aashti was feeling at peace and in a beautiful flow, she was suddenly arrested in the middle of a retreat she was leading in France. Here is how she summarizes her experience:
From one day to another she found herself in prison… for no reason at all. Her whole life was turned upside down. One day, in her cell, she heard a voice inside asking: ‘Are you in PEACE now?’ She had felt very upset, afraid and vulnerable, facing the power of the legal system which had manufactured a whole science fiction story about her and her work. She watched and allowed the intensity of All scary emotions and thoughts that came up, one after the other, without asking herself to be different than what was there in each moment. In the midst of this tsunami, which was far from being peaceful and loving, she found a PEACE that nothing can take away, that nobody can touch, offend, or hurt; a PEACE that has always been there. This is who we are. This 3 year tsunami or this falling into Peace has been a blessing in disguise. For the first time after 4 years, she feels called to share this in public.
